NADRA issues 90 mln CNICs: Senate body told

ISLAMABAD: The Functional Committee on Human Rights was informed that National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) issued 90 million Computerised National Identity ards (CNICs) to people in a meeting held here on Thursday.

The meeting was held here under the chairmanships of Senator, Afrasiab Khattak at Parliament House.

Briefing the committee NADRA chairman, Imtiaz Tajwar said NADRA has issued 25 million computerized child birth certificate.

The registration of single parent children is started on the orders of the Supreme Court.

Chairman  Afrasiab Khattak directed NADRA to facilitate inhabitants of FATA settled in Punjab.

As many as 522 offices of NRCS have been working across the country.

The NRCS offices were working round the clock to facilitate the people. So far NADRA has issued 30.10 million CNICs without charging any fee.

Senator, Amar Jeet said Sikh community considers Pakistan as their mother and vowed to offer sacrifices for the country.
