MQM observes ‘Black Day’ today against Khursheed Shah’s Remarks

KARACHI: Muthahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) is observing Sunday as a black day across entire Sindh Province against Pakistan People’s Party leader Syed Khursheed Shah’s terming the Urdu word Mohajir (migrant) a swearword.

MQM committee announced on Saturday that the party will observe a peaceful mourning day on Sunday and requested the party workers and activists to remain peaceful and lift black flags all the day.

All businesses including utilities, clinics and gas stations remained closed. Public transport was also ceased in support of the strike.

Meanwhile, MQM announced to hold a public meeting today at 3pm in Karachi besides protest rallies across the city against Syed Khursheed Shah’s statement for which he had apologized to MQM and Urdu-speaking people last week.
