KARACHI: Inspector General of Police (IGP), Ghulam Haider Jamali on Tuesday directed the city police chief to beef up security arrangements across the province and particularly in the city on the eve of Youm-e-Shahadat of Hazrat Usman Ghani.
In his directives issued here, he said all Station House Officers (SHOs) must immediately approach religious scholars, and organisers of meetings to be held on the occasion, in their respective areas of jurisdiction.
Focus must be on coordination, the IGP said mentioning this would be crucial to facilitate needed search and provision for technical security oriented measures needed at these sites.
Jamali also sought extensive patrolling, picketing and random checking to thwart nefarious designs of terrorists.
Karachi police chief as well as those belonging to other cities of the province were reiterated to develop close linkage with all stakeholders and ensure needed peace and tranquility on the occasion.
