KARACHI:Inspector General of Sindh Police, Ghulam Haider Jamali has directed the Sindh Police to conduct survey of all police pickets in Karachi.
He said that police personnel be deployed at all police pickets to strengthen the security.
He was talking to a 12-member delegation of All Karachi Anjuman-e-Tajiraan led by Haroon Rasheed Chand, at the Central Police Office here on Thursday, said a statement.
Haroon Rasheed informed the Sindh Police chief that the pro-active policing has helped to control crime in Lyari.
He said that active and comprehensive security arrangements will help restore peace in the metropolis.
Ghulam Haider Jamali said security arrangements be further strengthened in industrial zones and commercial areas. Police patrolling, particularly, patrolling by motorcycle squad be amplified, he said.
He also called for snap checking, picketing and additional deployment of policemen at public places including shopping centres and amusement parks.
He said coordination be developed with all stakeholders at police station levels to promote community policing.
