Fifth One Young World Summit: Pakistani youth secures 1st position

A report which got published on claimed that Pakistani youth Khizr Imran secured the first prize at the Rwanga Social Startup Competition at the fifth One Young World Summit held in Dublin.

While sharing his vision, Imran said that to research and manufacture affordable energy solutions for low-income communities is his aim. He said, “I started working with the idea to exploit solar energy in Pakistan and provide solutions for people belonging to low-income communities”.

According to him, solar water heating has immense potential and ‘greenhouse technology”, in contrast to evacuation tubes, is a more efficient and viable option which will rapidly spread across Pakistan.

Khizr has co-founded with his friends at Jaan Pakistan (organization) to launch this initiative. Reports claimed that it has thus far received USD 20,000 as prize money and aims to venture into prototype development by the end of 2014.
