PESHAWAR: The migration of the temporarily displaced people (TDPs) of Khyber Agency continues unabated due to military operation Khyber-I as 8571 dislocated families comprising 68715 individuals were enlisted by the Fata Disaster Management Authority (FDMA) till date.
Hasseb Khan, FDMA Spokesman told APP the Government has made elaborate arrangements for facilitation of the displaced families fleeing from Bara tehsil of Khyber Agency in the wake of Khyber-I operation as free transport, food, non food items etc are being provided to them by the Government.
Four enlistment points including at Lala Kando Ali Masjid in Tehsil Jmarud Khyber Agency, Sirband border area of Peshawar-Khyber Agency and Orakzai Agency were established where staff of FDMA along with line departments is available for their registration, he said, adding the mobile teams are also providing assistance to field staff in relief and registration process.
He said 68715 persons including 15,956 male, 16732 female and 36027 children were so far enlisted.
Hasseb Khan said 90 percent registration of the displaced people of Tehsil Bara who migrated during last four years, have already been completed and monthly compensation besides food and non food items are being provided to them by the Government.
Asked about displaced people of North Waziristan Agency, he said the Government was providing Rs. 22,000 per month, food and non food items besides sports facilities at different relief camps to a displaced person.
Free medical treatment is also being provided to the displaced people at the camp, he added. He informed that polio vaccination was also being administered to children arriving at the camp.
