District Muharrram peace committee meeting held

ATTOCK: District Peace Committee has always played a positive role for maintaining religious harmony and peaceful co-existence during Muharram.

This was stated by District Coordination Officer Habib Ullah while chairing a meeting of District Peace Committee here on Friday  in his office.

He said that emergency will be declared in all hospitals of district during the month of Muharram.

The meeting was attended by the Member Provincial Assembly Malik Zafar Iqbal, DPO Attock Israr Ahmad Abbassi,  ADC Kinza Murtaza, Assistant Commissioners Nazarat Ali, Fariha Tehseen and Ch. Abdul Majid alongwith members District Peace Committee, Syed Khadim Hussain Naqvi, Allama Mehmood Ul Hassan Tauheedi, Molana Sher zaman, Molana Abdul Malik, Molana Ghulam Muhammad Siddiqui, Qari Abdur Rehman, Atta Ul Mustafa Chishti, Muhammad Safdar Hasrat, President Imam Bargah Panjtani Syed Raza Haider Naqvi and President Anjuman Tajiran Rashid Ur Rehman.

DCO further directed all the Assistant Commissioners to ensure the cleanliness on the routes of processions, removal of sectarian wall chalking and to facilitate all the participants of the processions. He told that IESCO authorities will be requested to stop loadshedding during Majalis and procession timings.

Moreover, official from Rescue 1122 , bomb disposal squad and health department will also be present with the processions to provide medical and other facilities. Department of Civil Defence will remain in coordination with the district police to tackle any untoward situation. He appealed that no objectionable speech or slogan should be used during processions and Majalis.

He sought full cooperation from the members of District Peace Committee in this regard.

It is decided that Azadars will be physically checked before entering points of processions.

Special control rooms have been setup in all tehsils of the district that can be contacted at any time in emergency.
