ISLAMABAD: British Prime Minister David Cameron on Tuesday phoned Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and invited him to attend Afghanistan Conference being held in London in the last week of November.
They also discussed matters of mutual interest.
The Conference is being co-chaired by Prime Minister Cameron and Afghanistan President Dr. Ashraf Ghani which would serve to reiterate the international community’s commitment to Afghanistan, said a press release of media wing of the PM’s Office.
“As one of Afghanistan’s most important neighbors, Pakistan participation at the highest level would serve to highlight its commitment to peace and stability in Afghanistan.
The Prime Minister’s participation in the Conference would also enable the two leaders to discuss bilateral Pakistan-UK relations and also provide an opportunity for the Prime Minister (Muhammad Nawaz Sharif) to meet the President of Afghanistan,” it added.
