54.93% students of Class IX declared pass in all five papers

KARACHI: Board of Secondary Education – Karachi on Friday announced results for Secondary School Certificate, Part – One, (Class IX), General Group, of both regular and private candidates with accumulative pass percentage of 54.93.

These 54.93% or 13123 students were among the 23892 private and regular candidates who managed to clear all five papers, said Noman Ahsan, Controller of Examination, BSE-Karachi.

Of the regular candidates declared pass in five papers 7444 were girls and 2588 boys, total being 10032 (57.434%) where as among the private candidates 886 were girls and 2205 boy, that is, 3091 (48.11%) of these private candidates managed to clear all five papers.

These students were followed by 5331 (22.31%) declared pass in four papers, 2828 students (11.84%) cleared three papers, 1430 students (5.99%) two papers and 809 (3.39%) could pass in one paper only.

The board official said 18200 students had registered themselves as regular candidates while 7059 as private, bringing the total to 25259.

However, 17467 regular and 6425 appeared in the examinations.

Seven hundred and thirty regular (733) and 634 private students were found absent bringing the total number of absentees to 1367.
