ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (N) MNA Maiza Hameed said that leaders of both the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) should focus on relief and rescue operation for the flood-hit people rather than spending millions of rupees on the ongoing sit-ins in Islamabad.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, she said that government was ready to meet all demands of the protesting parties but these parties often tended to street violence which calls for police action.
She said that government was willing to resolve political crisis through talks but protestors were bent on violence and wanted to seek solution outside the domain of the Constitution.
She said that PML-N is a democractic party that was why it did not opt for the use of force against the protestors.
She said that all demands of the protesting parties had been met therefore their protest was unconstitutional.
Provincial Health Minister Punjab, Khalil Tahir Sindhu said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif were with the flood-hit people and determined to compensate and rehabilitate them before the coming Eid.
He said that people had fallen victim to flood because they did not pay any heed to flood warning and announcements of vacating low lying areas by the local administration.
The entire political leadership was required to be united in this trying time but unfortunately two so-called leaders were busy in organizing musical concerts in the name of protest demonstrations in Islamabad, he added.
