ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Commerce Khurram Dastgir Khan said on Tuesday positive criticism on the government policies was part of democracy.
Talking to PTV, he said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was a democrat and he listened to the criticism against the government policies in the joint sitting of Parliament
He alleged that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan was using abusive language against leaders of other political parties, which did not suit him. He had been giving provoking statements and also incited his party to attack the Pakistan Television (PTV) building and steal cameras, which was condemnable.
The government was protecting the buildings of state institutions, which were public property, he added.
To a question, Khurram Dastgir termed PTI’s demand of Prime Minister’s resignation ‘unconstitutional’. Why should the Prime Minister, who was elected by the majority of people, resign, he asked.
