INCHEON: Guangzhou 2010 Asian Games bronze medalist Pakistan made a promising start in the Kabbadi event of 17th Asian Games when they defeated Thailand 51-30 in their opening league match at Songdo Global University Gymnasium on Sunday.
Pakistan dominated the first session as the never allowed their Thai players to settle down.
Better equipped Pakistani players remained on regular scoring spree and raced to 29-9 lead which included three bonus and six luna points.
Tough Thailand is not very rated team in the Kabbadi event. But they came back strongly battling hard before losing the second half by barest margin of one point 22-21.
Pakistan will faces Bangladesh on Monday before facing arch-rival and defending India on Tuesday.
