MULTAN: The Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) teams caught 164 pilferers and imposed over Rs 2.2 million fine in last month.
According to sources, different checking teams raided in premises of Gulgasht sub-division and imposed Rs 40,428 fine on four pilferers, Rs 54,060 fine on five pilferers in Hassanabad sub-division area, Rs 82,440 to six pilferers in Bosan raod sub-division, Rs 122,292 to eight power pilferers in Wilaytabad sub-division.
Similarly, Rs 81,516 was fined to six pilferers in city sub-division, Rs 154,128 to 11 in Nawan Sheher sub-division, Rs 22,812 to two in Shah Rukn-e-Alam sub-division,Rs 244,536 to 14 power pilferers in Khanewa-l sub division. While Rs 2,50,908 was fined to 16 power pilferers in Khanewal-II sub-division, Rs 32,148 to one in Civil line sub division, Rs 92,808 to six in Jaampur sub-division, Rs 1,24,308 to 11 pilferers in Fazilpur sub-division, Rs 90927 to six in Kot Mithan sub-division, Rs 50796 fine to three in Khanpur-II sub division, Rs 2,15724 to 16 pilferers in Khanpur city sub division.
While Rs 122,304 was fined to 17 pilferers in Zahir Pir sub division, Rs 180,852 to 15 in Arifwala city sub division, Rs 28,4496 to 14 in Sahiwal road sub division and Rs 23184 to two pilferers in Qaboola sub division.
The teams also recovered Rs 833,000 fine from pilferers and deposited to the revenue department.
