LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) lost its records as fire broke out in a government school in Lahore on Monday, Aaj News reported.
According to media sources, the fire broke out in Government Centre Model school located on Reti Gun Road and destroyed the ECP material stored in its basement.
Later the Election Commission clarified that the burnt material was not of vital importance.
ECP Deputy Director, Abdul Hameed said, “The material for general elections was not affected.”
He also added that the stored material in the basement was for the upcoming by elections and local bodies elections.
The school was evacuated as soon as it caught fire and Rescue 1122 workers managed to extinguish the fire.
