PESHAWAR: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Nasir Khan Durrani Monday awarded Charsadda and Haripur police officers and jawans on excellent performance against target killers, extortionists and dacoits in a ceremony held at CPO, Peshawar.
According to details the Charsadda police had arrested more than two dozen target killers and extortionists in different police action.
The accused were also found involved in target killing in Karachi and other parts of the country. Similarly two accused on gun point robbed worth Rs.2 million from Ghulam Sajjad, manager of Indus Poultry Form. One accused was identified by complainant on the spot.
A police investigation team arrested the accused within 48 hours and recovered case property of Rs.1.9 million along with 2 pistols, 30 cartridges and one 12 bore double barrel gun.
In another case 4 accused had robbed 25 tolas gold ornaments along with Rs. 41000 and mobile from a shop.
The Sarrai Saleh police station investigation team obtained call record data of suspected accused and on information raided the accused and arrested him on the spot. The accused also revealed the names of his accomplices. In both the cases the accused confessed their crime in the courts.
Addressing the ceremony the IGP Nasir Khan Durrani commended the professional performance and gallantry acts of the Charsadda and Haripur police in the above mentioned three cases.
The police chief directed the awardees to make best use of their professional acumen and ensure due punishments to the accused from the relevant courts.
The IGP further directed the awardees to tighten the noose around the neck of the target killers, extortionists and dacoits and bring them to book at all cost.
The police officers and jawans awarded on the occasion include DSP Charsadda Raza Muhammad, DSP investigation Khanpur Abdul Aziz Tanoli, SHO Khanpur Inspector Iftikhar, Sub Inspector Aurangzeb, ASI Waqar Ali, HC Muhammad Arshad and FC Sajjad of Srai Saleh police station.
