KARACHI: The Institute of Chartered Accountant of Pakistan (ICAP) organized a CA – Pakistan seminar and job fair 2014 here to provide chartered accountants of the country and the CA students a networking opportunity.
An ICAP official on Wednesday said the event simultaneously at ICAP Houses (Karachi and Lahore) was largely attended by employers from different sectors, qualified CAs and trainee students so as to understand present day needs in the country as well as available potential and their respective capacities.
It particularly helped the CA students to assess ground realities, listen to the industry experts and clutch advice for entering into the corporate world.
The seminar facilitated them to stay up to date on the latest changes in the modern corporate world and maintain a dialogue with industry professionals, said the ICAP official.
Speakers at the seminar emphasized upon the key aspects of present day’s workplace change and also underlined the essentials that with the increased competition, how recently qualified CAs will need to plan well and take extra care to secure their position in corporate arena.
The seminar was a comprehensive guide for young graduates and under – graduates as the speakers provided them the capacity to learn incisively.
Presentations were followed by an interactive question answer session.
Representatives of Uni lever Pakistan, Shell Pakistan, Total Parco, PEL, MCB, Herbion Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd, AJM Pharma, UBL Funds, Meezan Bank, Arif Habib Commodities, The Recruiters, A. F. Fergusons, KPMG and Deloitte Pakistan participated in the job fair.
The job fair was again a source of information, contacts and interview experience for the young CAs as to meet the potential employers face to face provided them a multitude of benefits.
Companies collected resumes of young chartered accountants and those about to acquire their certificates; screening was also done on the spot by some of organizations that raised confidence among the graduates in their ability to interact with employers and communicate their accomplishments.
