MULTAN: District Coordination Officer Zahid Saleem Gondal said that the recent flood was biggest in the district’s history and it affected over 2,75,000 people.
While, talking to journalists here,Zahid Saleem Gondal said that 6,00,000 to 7,00,000 cusecs water wave damaged hundreds of houses in the villages lying in limits of the district.
He claimed that the district administration took prompt measures and saved the city. He also said that the recent flood was bigger than the flood in 1992.
“These floods have played havoc with public properties in different district”. He informed that the administration set up 24 relief camps to accommodate over 13000 people and added that the dwellers of the camps were being provided food items and other necessary facilities round the clock.
“The administration provided 6000 tents to accommodate the flood stricken families”,he said. Zahid Gondal also informed that the floods affected nearly 5,00,000 cattleheads in the district.
