KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Food Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar has dismissed eight officers of Food department from their jobs.
An official of Food department while talking to APP on Tuesday, informed that dismissed officers included six Food Inspectors and two Assistant Food Controllers.
Cases of the said officers have been sent to Anti-Corruption and National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for the recovery of looted money.
He informed that after completion of departmental inquiries, Assistant Food Controllers Aqil Jat and Syed Manzoor Shah, Food Inspectors, Muhammad Yousuf Arain, Nazar Ali Jakhrani, Rajhan Malik, Abdul Ghaffar Kalhwar, Abdul Fatah Sarki and Shabbir Ahmed Malik were dismissed from their jobs.
It is pertinent to mention here that these officers were involved in corruption of million rupees. Beside this, departmental action against two other Food Inspectors is also underway.
NAB Sindh has recovered four million rupees of looted money from Sukkur and Larkana region.
Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said that Sindh government is making all out efforts to facilitate wheat farmers and consumers of flour as well and the government is also taking action against corrupt officials.
