Blast near FC convoy in Peshawar kills three and injures 13


PESHAWAR: At least three people including a woman and a security personnel were reported to be killed and thirteen others were reported to be injured in a blast which took place near FC convoy in Peshawar, Aaj News reported.

Khyber Pakhtunkhuwa Information Minister Mushtaq Ghani revealed that a roadside blast took place targeting Frontier Constabulary (FC) convoy on Peshawar Saddar Road. He further revealed that the nature of explosion has yet not been ascertained, but for now the evidences from the hit site are being collected.

CCPO Peshawar Ijaz, while talking to local media sources claimed that it is possible that the explosive material could have been placed in the vehicle coming from opposite side, but it is not yet confirmed. He further said that the blast incident could be the reaction of the ongoing military Zarb-e-Azb operation in North Waziristan.

The security forces have reached at the incident site and have cordoned off the area for further investigation. Meanwhile, the rescue sources revealed that two injured people who were immediately shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital are claimed to be critical.
