ISLAMABAD: Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) has recovered 39 kg charas, 1,20,000 psychotropic tablets, 6 kg opium and 1.3 kg heroin in six different operations launched at Islamabad, Mianwali, Lahore, Haripur and Peshawar.
According to ANF, during operations, 11 drug smugglers were apprehended and one vehicle seized from their possession.
According to details, ANF Lahore intercepted a Toyota Corolla Car No. AEP-177-Sindh near Hamza Cotton Mills, MM Road, Mianwali and recovered 34.1 kg charas and 3.6 kg opium tactfully concealed in CNG cylinder and secret cavities of the car. An accused Amir Abdullah Khan r/o Mianwali was arrested at the spot.
ANF Lahore apprehended a drug supplier Naseem Ullah Shah r/o Peshawar in an operation launched near G-1 Market, Johar Town, Lahore and recovered 2.4 kg opium from his possession. He came to Lahore for delivery of narcotics.
ANF Rawalpindi arrested Sajjad Hussain r/o Sargodha at Benazir International Airport, Islamabad and recovered 186 heroin filled capsules weighing 1.3 kg heroin tactfully concealed in a box containing sweets. He intended to take off for Dubai by Shaheen Airline Flight No.NL-221.
ANF Peshawar Airport team detained Ban Raz Khan and Nasir Khan, both residents of district Bannu and recovered 120000 psychotropic tablets tactfully concealed in their luggage.
They were garbed as pilgrims and intended to take off for Jeddah by Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight No. SV-793. As per initial reports, the accused were being facilitated by ASF officials.
ANF Peshawar conducted an operation at Bus Stand, Mansehra and arrested Juma Mir r/o District Kohistan and recovered 5 kg charas from his personal possession.
ANF Peshawar in an operation conducted at Haji Camp Bus Stand, Peshawar arrested five drug carriers namely Muhammad Anwar Khan, Imtiaz Ali, Kashif, Mazhar Abbas Ahmed and Mazhar Ali, all residents of Chiniot who confessed of having ingested heroin filled.
As per initial reports, they were proceeding to Chiniot for supply of drugs.
All cases have been registered in ANF Police Stations and further investigations are under progress.
