ISLAMABAD: Parliamentarians belonging to treasury and opposition benches said here Wednesday that all political parties were united for democracy and supremacy of the Constitution, Parliament and rule of law.
Talking to reporters outside the Parliament House, Jamaat-e-Islami MNA Sahibzada Tariqullah said people had given their mandate to the PML-N and they should be allowed to complete their five-year tenure.
Awami National Party MNA, Haji Ghulam Ahmed Bilour said the protesting parties were setting a wrong tradition to change government and the system through the use of force.
He said the marching parties wanted to make Pakistan a ‘Banana Republic’, which would not be allowed.
“We stand for the Constitution, democracy and Parliament,” he said.
Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam (F) MNA, Akram Khan Durrani said all political parties in the government and the opposition except PTI would safeguard democracy and take the country forward on the path of progress and prosperity.
Pakistan Muslim League (Z) Chief and MNA, Ejazul Haq advised Imran Khan and Dr. Tahirul Qadri to refrain from resorting to actions which could endanger democracy in the country.
Pakistan Peoples Party MNA, Aijaz Jhakrani said that Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri had the same director and producer who apparently outlined their script.
He said it was the collective responsibility of all the political forces, including the protesting parties, to safeguard democracy.
