PESHAWAR: The Sarhad Ruler Support Program (SRSP) Chitral has given approval of the construction of 200 KV Wind Power Station in Rari Ohver Valley of District Chitral.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Sarhad Ruler Support Programme Shehzad Masood-ul-Mulk was the chief guest on this occasion. People from different walk of life were also present on this occasion.
It was a long waited demand of the people of the far-flung to provide them electricity. The people of this far-flung area are mostly deprived of basic amenities of life. They lack facilities like electricity, drinking water facilities, telephone, hospital and college etc but with the completion of the long waiting project it would give a new boost in improving the overall basic necessities of life.
In this connection a big public meeting was also held wherein Qazi Obaid Ullah presided over and elders and youth of the area.
They also thanked SRSP for giving approval of the electricity project and expressed the hope that more facilities would be ensured to them in due course of time.
District Programme Manager in his briefing disclosed that the project would cost Rs 27 million and the project would be completed in due course of time with the support of Programme for Economic Development and Community Empowerment and European Union. After the completion of the project, he said, more than 480 houses would be facilitated with electricity.
