RAWALPINDI: Around 1055 dengue fever suspects have so far been brought to the allied hospitals of the city,out of which 9 cases were positive who were provided the required treatment in the hospitals.
Focal person for RMC and Allied Hospitals of Rawalpindi, Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS) Holy Family Hospital (HFH) Dr Javed Hayat talking to APP said on Friday.
To date, the Holy Family Hospital (HFH) has registered 215 dengue fever suspects,District Headquarter Hospital(DHQ) registered 24 while 816 suspects were registered with Benazir Bhutto Hospital(BBH).Javaid added.
“Presently five dengue patients are under treatment in HFH and four in BBH,” he added.
He said all out-efforts are being made to control dengue cases in Rawalpindi district, adding Dengue fever situation is under control, chance of dengue fever will end by mid of October when the weather conditions change.
Dr Javed Hayat said maximum arrangements for the treatment of dengue fever patients have been made; besides all possible preventive measures are in place to meet any eventuality.
Incharge district health dengue campaign Dr Tahir Ahmed said a full-scale fumigation drive is underway in different localities of the city especially where dengue larva has been found.
He said the health department’s team visited Khayaban-e-Sir Syed, Dhoke Naju, Dhoke Dalal, Safdarabad, Bangash Colony, besides schools,colleges,pirwadahi bus station,service station ,tyre shops,grave yards and main bus terminals in the city and sprayed chemicals to destroy mosquitoes.
He advised the citizens to adopt precautionary measures and do not be panic as the dengue fever is curable with timely and proper treatment.
