LAHORE: The use of mobile telephone during the duty has totally been banned in all jails across the province with immediate effect except Superintendent and Deputy Superintendents Jail.
Unfolding the detail of ban,Superintendent Camp Jail Shahram Tauair Khan told APP here Sunday that Prisons Chief,Punjab,Mian Farooq Nazeer,has clamped complete ban on
use of mobile phone during duty and he had directed all range DIGs and Superintendents Jails to ensure strict compliance of ban in their respective jurisdiction.
He said that a couple of days ago,one of the warder Ajaz Ul Haq was removed from service for using mobile during duty.
The prisoners possessing mobile phone were removed from barracks to a special cell (Chakki) forthwith besides its seizure and barred from meeting with their relatives for a
period of one month.
He said for effective security in and around the prisons,a modern network of jammers is also being installed under a phased programme.
