LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that the mandate given to Pakistan Muslim League-N to get the country rid of terrorism, energy crisis and other issues be honoured and the aim of progress and prosperity will be achieved at any cost.
Talking to various delegations during a meeting here on Tuesday, he said that PML-N government led by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was implementing solid economic policies to strengthen national economy.
He said that an effective strategy had been adopted for the promotion of local and foreign investment and billions of dollars were being invested in Pakistan by foreign investors.
He said that resolving of energy crisis and eradication of terrorism was essential for rapid national development and the government is working on both these fronts seriously.
Shahbaz Sharif expressed the hope that the sincere efforts of the government would succeed and the country would overcome all its problems.He said that PML-N is the founder party of Pakistan and would make it a strong and prosperous country. He said that modern infrastructure played a key role in the promotion of economic and trade activities and PML-N government had always given priority to such development projects.
He said that Punjab government had set records of public service during the last six years and this process would continue. He said that the poor masses were fully benefiting from the projects executed in the province.
Shahbaz Sharif said that billions of rupees were being spent on public welfare programmes, adding self-employment scheme, metro bus service, Ashiyana housing project, Punjab educational endowment fund, laptops scheme and yellow cab scheme were such welfare projects of the government from which a large number of people were benefiting.
