ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of Hurriyet Conference Jammu and Kashmir, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has stressed the need to resolve the Kashmir dispute through tripartite talks among Pakistan, India and the genuine Kashmiri leadership.
Shabbir Ahmed Shah in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the dispute of Kashmir was primarily the issue of the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir which India had usurped in 1947 by landing its troops in Srinagar, KMS reported.
He said that following the Indian invasion, the people of Kashmir launched a freedom struggle against its forcible occupation and New Delhi was continuously suppressing this movement through military might.
Senior Hurriyet leader maintained that Pakistan was the one country in the world that rendered its every possible support (political, diplomatic and moral) to the people of Kashmir in their fight for freedom.
He said that the Kashmir dispute needed to be resolved through tripartite dialogue in line with the relevant the UN resolutions. “Bilateral talks vis-a-vis Kashmir issue have completely failed,” he added.
