ISLAMABAD: Hurriyet leaders have paid tributes to martyred senior APHC leader, Sheikh Abdul Aziz, and other martyrs of 2008 uprising.
According to KMS, Abdul Aziz was shot dead by Indian troops on 11th August, 2008, while he was leading a procession from Srinagar to the Line of Control against the economic blockade of the Kashmir Valley by Hindu extremists of Jammu.
Over 70 other innocent people were also killed by Indian troops and police personnel during the mass uprising in the same year.The veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the sacrifices of Kashmiri martyrs would not go waste and the liberation movement would be taken to its logical end at all costs.
He said India itself had struggled and attained the freedom from British and now the country by denying the same right for the people of Kashmir was following the double standards.
Nayeem Ahmad Khan in his statement issued in Srinagar paid tributes to Sheikh Abdul Aziz and reiterated the Kashmiris’ resolve to continue liberation struggle till complete success.
The Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Women’s Democratic Forum,Tanveer Fatima in her statement paid a glowing tribute to martyrs of 2008 including Sheikh Abdul Aziz, on their martyrdom anniversaries.
The Chairman of JKLF-R, Farooq Ahmad Dar while, paying tributes to Shaheed-e-Azeemat Sheikh Abdul Aziz on his martyrdom anniversary, said that he raised his voice against the oppressor and the unjust ruler and always remained on front against any sort of oppression boldly and bravely.
The Chairperson of KTK, Zamrooda Habib in Srinagar rich tributes to Sheikh Aziz on his 6th anniversary and said that Sheikh Aziz had dedicated his whole life for Kashmir struggle.
