LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehrik (PAT) chief Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri wanted to push Pakistan towards secularism by eliminating the elected governments and the entire democratic
Punjab Agriculture Minister Dr. Farrukh Javed and Lahore PML-N Vice President, MNA Sohail Shaukat Butt expressed these views in separate statements issued here Saturday.
Dr. Farrukh Javed termed ‘Qadri’s 10-point agenda a rubbish,’ adding that PAT Chief is bent upon trampling the whole democratic setup through mere rhetoric and misleading his followers.
He said that the PAT chief’s demands have no specialty or worth, since Pakistan governments particularly the PML-N governments have been giving equal representation to the womenfolk in every field, besides best taking care of the minority communities of the country.
He said that Qadri without having any solid ground, demanded of dissolution of elected assemblies in one go, which is tantamount to snatch heavy public mandate giving to Nawaz-League in the general election 2013.
The Provincial Agriculture Minister reminded of the PAT Chief that federal and provincial governments of the PML-N have initiated a number of projects aimed to uplift living standard of the poor class including Ashyana housing scheme and continuation of the income support programme.
The Punjab government as compared to other provincial governments has completed a number of public welfare and infrastructural development projects, he added.
Mentioning the 14-month performance of the government, Dr. Farrukh Javed said that N-League has not only addressed the direction of country economy but also put it on path to progress and development, as all economic indicators are improving fast. The country?s GDP growth rate, foreign reserves, stock markets, exports and foreign investment have increased substantially, while fiscal deficit has narrowed down, he maintained.
While, Lahore PML-N Vice President, MNA Shaukat Sohail Butt was of the view that Dr Qadri is toeing to the foreign agenda of creating anarchy in Pakistan.
The PAT Chief, he asserted, wanted to turn Pakistan into a secular state and eliminate its Islamic identity, however, masses are now well aware and will never be hoodwinked by a Canadian citizen, who is attempting to derail democratic and elected governments just to penetrate his own agenda of personal interests through worthless and so-called Revolution March/sit-in.
MNA Sohail Shaukat Butt said the issue of creation of more provinces in Pakistan can only be sorted out in the parliament, which is an appropriate and constitutional forum.
The PML-N governments -federal and Punjab- are very much focused on energy sector and striving to utilize all available and alternate resources for electricity generation, he said, citing that these efforts of the N-League are aimed at facilitating the public at large
as well as keep the industrial wheel on the move, which means more exports and more foreign reserves.
