ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister of Commerce, Khurram Dastagir Khan has said that Police and Rangers were deployed in the federal capital to ensure protection of citizens and remove the fear of terrorism in the area.
He said that the decision was taken due to operation launched against terrorists in North Waziristan Agency.
Talking to a private television channel, he said that routine checking was carried out by the law enforcement agencies and rangers to remove the fear of terrorism in the capital area.
He said, “We need cooperation of the people to eliminate the menace of terrorism in all parts of the country.”
“We should keep tolerance while living under the democratic system, ” he said. Minister said that long march should be taken out for flushing out extremism and addressing the crisis in the energy sector.
Khurram Dastagir said that holding peaceful protest demonstration was the right of any citizen under the democratic system.
Replying to a question he said: “Almighty Allah granted opportunity to PTI to establish government in the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province.
He said that PTI should respect the mandate of the people of Pakistan in other provinces. He added that the party should shun the idea of grabbing power in other provinces of the country and keep focusing on the development of KPK.
To a question, he said that the general election was conducted in fair, free and transparent manner and there was no reports of rigging in the polls.
