KP CM grieves over loss of lives in Batkhela incident

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has expressed his heartfelt, deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious human lives as a result of incident when a Toyota pickup van plunged into river near Batkhela, killing four people including the driver, a woman and her two children.

In a condolence message, the chief minister while expressing deep sympathies with the members of the bereaved families and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in peace and give courage to their families to bear the irreparable loss with patience.

According to police control, the incident occurred at 10:00 am when the Toyota pickup was on way from Kamala to Batkhela. The cause of incident was said to be over speed as the driver lost control over the vehicle by taking a sharp curve.

The bodies of the woman named Haleema and her daughter Aleeza have been retrieved from the waters while search for the bodies of the driver and child named Osama was underway.
