KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi, Ghulam Qadir Thebo in a departmental meeting Monday said 100 camera installed “MUHAFIZ” mobiles, linked round the clock to Command and Control Centre, CPO, are being provided to the three police zones in the metropolis.
These equipped mobiles, he said are to be particularly assigned responsibilities in the well identified sensitive areas so as to not only provide necessary vigilance and security but also to make snap checking coordinated as well as effective.
AIG – Karachi Police on the occasion handed keys of 30 of these mobiles to South Zone and 15 each to zones east and west respectively while CIA received six of these mobiles.
Thebo said this handing of keys was the initial phase of providing well equipped vehicles to the different police zones and that the remaining vehicles would also soon be given to the concerned
Giving the Madadgar 15’s centres functional across the city under the direct supervision of Zonal DIGs, the city police chief said updated measures were required to improve the service delivery of the cells meant to provide quality relief and assistance to the citizens.
The meeting was also attended by DIGs, of all three police zones operational in Karachi, besides DIG of CIA, Muhafiz Force and Madadgar 15’s SPs, Director Information Technology of Central Police Office (CPO) and DIG – Administration, Karachi Police.
