ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz legislator Ubaidullah Khan Shadi khail on Wednesday said that a few thousand protesters cannot intimidate the popularly elected government which was supported by overwhelming majority of the masses.
Talking to APP, the MNA from Mianwali said that the government enjoyed the support of a large segment of society including parliament, chambers of commerce, bar associations, civil society and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
Giving his reaction on Prime Minister’s speech in the National Assembly he said that the PML-N was working on a development agenda for overcoming the menace of loadshedding, however, he added that PTI and PAT protestors were trying to sabotage democracy and development in the country.
The PML-N leader said the elections of 2013 were far more transparent and fair than the elections of year 2002 and 2008.
He said that Prime Minister has rightly said that it was need of the hour to shun negative politics and to use energy for the country’s progress.
Obaidullah Khan appreciated the role of opposition parties except PTI by saying that they extended support to the government through a resolution favouring continuation of democracy and upholding the Constitution.
Shadikhail, who returned successful on NA-71 constituency seat vacated by PTI Chairman Imran Khan said that the current political disturbance is a setback for the national economy.
He said Pakistan was facing different problems including poverty, unemployment, food and clean water and the PML-N government was striving to resolve these issues of the masses under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
