LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s 28 legislators submitted their resignations with the Punjab Assembly secretariat here Wednesday.
Opposition leader Mian Mehmudur Rashid accompanied by PTI MPAs including Malik Ahmed Khan, Sibtain Khan, Saadia Sohail, Murad Raj, Ejaz Khan Jazi handed over their resignations to the secretary assembly Rai Mumtaz Hussain Babar.
However, two PTI MPAs Jehanzeb Khichi and Nighat Intesar did not submit their resignations and PTI Mehmud ur Rashid told media after submitting resignations that the two lawmakers were reluctant to quit the house. He said, he and his party members were resigning from the house under protest.
He said that their protest would continue till acceptance of demands. He maintained that lawmakers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would also tender resignation in a day or so.
PTI MPAs who submitted resignations were names of MPAs are- Muhammad Siddique Khan, Malik Taimur Masood, Asif Mehmud, Raja Rashid Hafeez, Ejaz Khan, Mohammad Arif Abbassi, Ejaz Hussain Bokhari, Salahuddin Khan, Ahmed Khan Bhachar, Muhammad Sibtain Khan, Mohammad Aslam Iqbal, Mian Mehmud ur Rashid, Dr Murad Raas, Masood Shafqat, Zaheerud Din Khan Ali Zai, Javed Akhtar, Waheed Asghar Dogar, Abdul Majeed Khan Niazi, Mian Mumtaz Ahmed Maharvi, Saadia Sohail Rana, Noshin Hamid, Raheela Anwar, Nabeela Hakin Ali Khan, Naheed Naseem, Shunaila Ruth.
