THATTA: A 3-day polio drive will start from August 18 throughout district Thatta.
In this regard Deputy Commissioner Thatta Agha Shahnawaz Babar has directed the health department to ensure that every child up to 5 years is administered polio drops.
The DC, Agha Shahnawaz Babar, while presiding the meeting at Darbar Hall on Friday directed the concerned departments’ officers to take effective measures on a war footing so that the children of district Thatta could be saved from this crippling disease.

The health department’s Director Health Dr. Zahoor Ahmed Memon told the meeting that during the upcoming three-day polio drive 171914 children would be administered polio drops.
To make the drive successful a plan has been made according to which a total of 441 teams including 363 mobile teams have been formed for 30 UCs which administer polio drops to children up to 5 years and other officers teams would participate in the anti-polio drive.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Thatta, Mukhtiarkars, PPHI, WHO and other social organisations’ representatives.
