KARACHI: Four ships C.V Maersk Kingston, C.V Hanjin Malta, M.T Feng Hai-35 and M.T Quetta carrying containers, palm oil and furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTOC Oil Terminal respectively at Port Qasim on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, two more ships with containers and palm oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was maintained at the port at sixty four percent on Tuesday where ten ships namely C.V Maersk Ngami, C.V Cape Marin, C.V Maersk Kingston, C.V Hanjin Malta, M.V Thore Breeze, M.V Anna Maria,M.V Arundel Castel, M.T Atlantic Glory, M.T Feng Hai-35 and M.T Quetta were occupied at PQA berths to load/offload containers, cement,fertilizer, iron ore, chemicals and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 116,444 tonnes,comprises 56,746 tonnes imports and 59,698 tonnes export inclusive containerized cargo carried in 3,396 containers (TEUs) (700 imports and 500 exports TEUs) were handled at the port.
Chemicals carrier ‘Atlantic Glory’ and container vessel ‘HanjinMalta’ sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more container ship ‘Maersk Ngami’ and ‘Maersk kingston’ are expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Two ships C.V CMA CGM Container and M.T Theresa Mars carrying containers and palm oil are expected to take berths at container Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
