RAWALPINDI:Provincial Parliamentary Secretary for Youth Affairs, Sports and Archaeology Chaudhry Sarfraz Afzal Thursday directed Rawalpindi Waste Management Company (RWMC) to remain alert to prevent dengue larva breeding especially during the ongoing monsoon season.
“Threat of dengue mosquito breeding has multiplied with the advent of monsoon season, therefore, all government departments especially Rawalpindi Waste Management Company must stand alert and gear up their anti dengue efforts,” he said while presiding over a meeting of Tehsil Emergency Response Committee at the office of Potohar Town Administrator.
Tehsil Municipal Officer (TMO) Potohar Town Ikhlaq Warriach and senior officials were also present on the occasion.
Declaring dengue mosquito a ?common enemy,? Sarfraz Afzal said all government departments and the public should make coordinated efforts to fight it.
He said all government departments have sufficient experience to tackle dengue, hence in the current season they should review their anti dengue plans and make them flawless.
The Parliamentary Secretary Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, was working on war-footing to eliminate dengue.
