ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain has signed into the Law Protection of Pakistan Bill-2014 on Friday, Aaj News reported.
This new born law permits security forces to fire suspects on sight with the permission of a grade-15 official.
The order to shoot a person on suspicion will come only from an official of a law-enforcement agency or a police officer of grade-15 or above.
According to this brand new law, Mobile phone records could be considered as testimony. Moreover, the special court could cancel the citizenship of any person.
The law will also be applicable to those involved in violence activities against foreign countries using land of Pakistan.
The legislation had recently been approved in the Parliament and only lacking the president’s signature for final approval.
The legislation has finally come into effect for two years with the official signature of PM penned on it.
