KARACHI: The port city, Karachi has to spend another day suffering from a major power breakdown, just like they spent the whole Friday night and day without electricity, Aaj News reported.
According to the reports, this is the second major power breakdown, Karachi is facing within 24 hours. On Thursday, majority of the power gird station of K-Electric (KESC) went down, due to which more than 70 to 80 percent of the areas in Karachi faced the power breakdown issue, which was sorted out after 12 hours of the long struggle.
After the fix of this long lasting break down, Karachi again has to suffer another major break down, as the electricity grid stations have again broke down after the rain occurred just after Iftar on Friday night.
The affected areas included Saddar, Clifton, Garden, I.I. Chundrigar Road, Burns Road, Jamshed Town, Jacob Lines, New Town, Railway Colony, Defence, Clifton, Qayyumabad, Sultanabad, Cantt., Kemari, Landhi, Korangi, Malir, Quaidabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, North Karachi, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and several other areas in the city.
The sources revealed that the power breakdown issue has been sorted out in some areas, whereas the workers of K-Electric are struggling to solve this problem in the areas where still the electricity consumption has not been made possible.
