Colombo: Hashim Amla chased a major victory for South Africa in first ODI by scoring 75 runs against Srilanka on Monday, Aaj News reported.
According to the sources, Sri Lanka had to chase the target of 305 runs in pursuit of which the experienced Kumar Sangakkara scored 88 runs, but in exchange of 13 runs lost last five wickets and suffered a major defeat.
Earlier, South Africa scored 304 for his 5 wickets; De Cock (27) was bowled out by the Matthews. On this occasion, Hashim Amla and Abraham De Villiers shared responsibility for scoring 151 runs.
Sri Lankan players dropped De Villiers catch on 17 and Hashim Amla’s on 49 runs. This pair ended when De Villier’s ball was caught by Kulasykra on 75 runs.
This victory was titled as the 13th ODI century in which Hashim Amla with one six and 8 fours scored 109 on 130 balls.
