Gujranwala clash: Woman and two children burnt to death

GUJRANWALA: At least three people who belonged to the same family, including one woman and two children were burnt to death, whereas other sustained injuries when an angry mob set fire in Arafat Colony on five houses, Aaj news reported.

According to the reports, the clash among the mob’s started when an Ahmadi, identified as Saqib s/o Ahmad Din, allegedly posted a blasphemous picture with Ejaz on Facebook.

After this post, the mob, containing Zakariya s/o Imam Jama Masjid Saiqia Qari Muhammad Hakim and others protested outside his house.

The mob while protesting enetred into a house in the house located nearby, but as the anger turned into a revenge, the mob set five house on fire, due to which Bashira Bibi, 30, and two children, identified as eight-month-old Hira and five-year-old Kainat died due to suffocation, whereas seven other people managing their way for escape sustained injuries.

The dead bodies and the injured were shifted to the District Hospital Gujranwala, whereas no arrests have been taken place in regard to this brutal revenge act.
