Alms-giving becomes much more common and heightened in the Holy month of Ramadan as it emboldens people to do charity and to exercise good humanitarian deeds to please Almighty Allah and gain His benediction.
But this altruistic practice is somewhere being exploited by these professional beggars who turn out to become more prepared and rehearsed in this month. These beggars move to main cities and places of the country to make the most of their business as it is the high time for them to earn and get charity from people.
Their begging business raises at its peak as people greatly offer alms to beggars and street hawkers encouraging their profession.
In Ramadan this menace grows increasingly that cause many other social evils to evolve in the society like theft, mobile snatching and dacoit etc. Steps should be taken to curb this menace.
Authority must enforce laws of anti-begging especially in this month of Ramadan. Another big reason giving rise to such practice is people’s charity to such panhandlers sitting at roadsides or banging at their home doors. People should refrain themselves from doing so and if they want to earn good deeds they better donate to good charitable organizations like Chhipa, Edhi and many other that are working earnestly for the welfare of needy ones and need our donations and support.
So, this Ramadan commits you to help the deserving and deprived souls and renounce this curse of begging from our society.
