ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has challenged the verdict to withdraw former President (retd) General Pervez Musharraf’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL), Aaj News reported.
According to the reports, Attorney General Office authorities have challenged the verdict of Sindh High Court (SHC) to withdraw Musharraf’s name from the ECL.
The petition registered by the petitioners against Musharraf claimed that Musharraf has been charged against treason trial case, whereas he is also undergoing through many different cases held in various courts, because of which he should not be allowed to leave the country.
The petition mentioned that once Musharraf will leave the country, he won’t be able to attend the hearings of various cases charged against him.
It is pertinent to know that SHC earlier gave a verdict to remove Musharraf’s name from the ECL and appealed the Govt. to make it work within 15 days.
