SIALKOT: Ambassador of Republic of Korea to Pakistan, Dr. Song Jong-Hwan on Thursday said that sound efforts were being made for further enhancing the business cooperation between South Korea and Pakistan.
“Special attention has been focused on mutual interests to initiate private level joint research for exploring the possibilities of bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the two countries”,he said.
Addressing members of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here he said that positive results of such research would pave the way for higher trade volume in coming years.
Korean Ambassador was of the view that the pro-business friendly policies of Pakistan government were encouraging local and International businessmen.
He added that Korean companies were willing to do business and explore joint opportunities with local partners in Pakistan.
He said Sialkot could become a very attractive destination for foreign business community due to its experience of producing international standard goods and exposure of changing global market requirements,he said.
The Ambassador said,”We are ready to join and contribute to development agenda of Pakistan”, adding that if the vision 2025 is truly implemented Pakistan will among top 25 economies by 2025.
The Ambassador said that a business delegation of SCCI should visit Korea and join trade fairs and exhibitions for introducing their products, adding that in this regard Embassy will extend full cooperation while Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) will also assist the business community of Pakistan for boosting bilateral trade.
In his address President SCCI, Dr. Sarfraz Bashir said that for improving bilateral trade exchanges of trade delegations and one to one meetings of businessmen were vital. He said in this regard the visa policy should be relaxed.
