ISLAMABAD: Following the launch of an operation against terrorists ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ in North Waziristan Agency, the security forces have been placed on high-alert across Pakistan, Aaj News reported on Monday.
According to the reports, Rangers have been deployed at all important buildings and check points in the federal capital. Police presence has also been increased. The checking of vehicles entering and exiting the city has also been heightened.
Security is on high alert at sensitive areas of Karachi while barriers have been placed in the red zone. Law enforcement agencies have also increased checking of vehicles.
In Lahore and other cities of Punjab as well, security has been placed on high-alert while vacations of police personnel have been cancelled. Additional police has been deployed at entry and exit points of cities in the province.
Fool-proof security arrangements have also been made at cantonment and army areas.
On the other hand, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has also declared emergency at government hospitals in Peshawar.
