LAHORE: In protest against alleged police clashes which killed five workers of the Pakistan Awami Tehreek led by Dr Tahirul Qadri, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) staged a walkout from the National Assembly on Tuesday, where as MQM has announced a day of mourning tomorrow as well, Aaj News reported.
While speaking to the media outside the Parliament House, PTI leader Makhdom Javed Hashmi said that killing PAT workers is deplorable. It is definitely against the norms of democracy and our religion as well,” he said.
PTI chief Imran Khan also condemned the incident in his twitter message. Illegal action of the police and killings of PAT followers could not be beared, he said.
Talking to media, MQM leader Farooq Sattar said that Punjab police has injured the ‘heart’ of Pakistan, adding that MQM will observe a day of mourning tomorrow across the country.
MQM Chief Altaf Hussain also in a separate statement called police action as unjustified.
Lahore incident also criticized by Sheikh Rasheed of Awami Muslim League , saying the government is making things difficult for itself.
It is pertinent to mention here that seven people were killed, while 80 others were injured, including 17 police personnel, in the clash which erupted outside their leader Dr Tahirul Qadri’s house in Model Town Colony in Lahore.
