ISLAMABAD: Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah Thursday said the killings of Pakistan Awami Tehrik workers in Lahore, was a conspiracy to sabotage the government’s bold decision of North Waziristan Agency (NWA).
Speaking on a Point of Order in the National Assembly, he said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) would continue the support for the government.
He said “the Government needs opposition’s support right now. Let Tahir-ul-Qadri be allowed to hold rallies as it was beauty of democracy.”
Giving example of sit-in of Allama Tahir-ul-Qadri during the previous tenure of PPP, he said the PPP government did defuse the situation through talks and negotiations.
He said the the situation in Lahore was not handled properly. “There was no need to remove barricades at a time when country badly needs reconciliation due to North Waziristan Agency Operation”, he added.
