Guilty will be punished: Rana Sana

LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Rana Sanaullah Khan Wednesday said that there was no bad intention behind the operation at Tehrike Minhaj ul Quran Secretariat.

Talking to media outside the Punjab Assembly here, he said that action was taken to remove encroachments following repeated complaints from residents of the area.

He expressed profound grief and deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the incident and said a case had already been instituted and responsibility would be fixed.

He added that an inquiry commission would probe the incident.

To a question regarding PAT Chairman Dr Qadri’s statement, the minister made it clear that government believed in supremacy of law and would establish its writ at all costs.

He denied Gullu Butt’s link with the PML-N and said he had been put behind the bars.

The minister said that clash began when supporters of PAT workers attempted to stop police from removing barriers outside their leader’s house in Model Town area.
