Cases lodge against 1600 PAT workers: Police

ISLAMABAD: Pertaining to arrested workers of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) and injured police personnel, a report has been prepared by police, Aaj News reported on Tuesday.

According to the report, cases have been lodged against 1600 PAT workers included Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri under various sections at different police stations of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

On the arrival of Tahirul Qadri, 403 PAT workers were arrested during protest in Islamabad, police said.

At least 48 policemen were injured in the twin cities early Monday morning when the enraged activists of PAT pelted them with stones and used batons.

The clashes occurred ahead of Tahir ul Qadri’s return to Pakistan to lead what he has called an anti-government “revolution”.

For damaging public property, interfering officials work and violating section 144, cases against PAT activists have been lodged.
