Two accused killed in Lyari encounter, six killed in rising violence

KARACHI: Two gangsters were killed by the police officials during a raid in Lyari on Saturday, whereas the rising violence in Karachi has claimed six more lives, Aaj News reported.

According to SSP City Sheraz Nazeer, police officials conducted a raid in Kalri area of Lyari by following a lead, whereas on their arrival in the particular area, the gangsters opened fire on them. During this exchange of fire between the police and the gangster, the accused were encountered.

The SSP also revealed that hand grenades, arms have also been recovered from the custody of the gangsters.

On the other hand, the rising violence in Karachi has claimed six more lives on Saturday. At least five persons were reported to be killed within an hour in various violent incidents across the city.

The rescue sources said that two tortured bodies were recovered from Quaidabad area of Madina Colony.

Two more bodies were recovered from Yaro Goth area of Surjani Town that were dumped in a Suzuki.

All four bodies are yet to be identified, whereas the rescue sources revealed that the bodies of the deceased lied between the age group of 25 to 30 years.

Meanwhile, two persons were shot dead by some unknown men in Orangi Town no.14 and Rasi Amrohi Colony area, whereas two other persons were injured by some unknown men, who opened fire on them in New Karachi sector 5 area. The injured were immediately shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical treatment.
