PESHAWAR: Senior Provincial Minister for Finance Siraj ul Haq Wednesday vowed that financial budget 2014-15 would be public friendly and provide 5,932 jobs in different departments.
Presiding over a meeting of Finance Department in connection with fiscal budget 2014-15 here, he said that austerity measures would be taken and excessive use of government resources would be curbed.
He said that accountability commission would soon be established to ensure good governance and right utilization of resources.
The minister said that the budget of various provincial departments would be raised in accordance with their performance and output, adding that as many as 5932 vacancies would be in different departments to reduce unemployment rate.
The meeting approved 75 vacancies in agriculture department, 2197 in Health department, 1,721 in education, 462 in Revenue department, 79 in Local government, 838 in Prison department and 560 in Population Welfare department to be announced in fiscal budget.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Information Shah Farman, Minister for Revenue Ali Amin Gandapur, Senior Minister for Health Sheram Khan Taraqai, Minister for Education Atif Khan, Minister for Local Government Inayatullah Khan, Minister for Zakat Haji Habib ur Rehman and secretaries of different departments.
